"Common Sense for Maine Taxpayers"
  • Election Day, November 2010

Regardless of party, if your congressman/woman does for himself/herself, not for you the voter, think about voting him/her out of office.

As National Election Day in November approaches we would do well to remember the following items before casting a vote for those who approved them:

The U.S. House and Senate voted themselves $5,300 and $4,700 raises, respectively.

And they voted not to give you a S.S. cost of living increase in 2010 and 2011.

Your Medicare premiums will increase by $285.60 for the two years, and you will not get the 3% COLA, or $660/year. Your total two-year loss and cost is $1,600 and $3,200 for husband and wife.

Every member of the Congress will get an additional $10,000, which puts them close to $200,000/year.

Do you feel screwed? They vote themselves a raise and better benefits. They only care about WE THE PEOPLE on election day. Right? You never did anything about it in the past. The time for action is near!

Do you really think that Nancy, Harry, Chris, Charlie, Barnie, et al, care about you? And how about Chellie, Mike, Olympia and Susan?

Let’s send the message: You’re Fired!

This is not about political parties. In 2010 we will have the opportunity to get rid of the entire House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate. The election of 2010 will be a sea-change to the mindset of any member of the Congress who may survive.

If you’re mad now, then stay mad and make sure you are still mad in November.
